Providence Accounting Supervisor in Polson, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling an Accounting Supervisor (Financial Services, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Assist and support monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.

  • Assist and work with management in the area of business analysis.

  • Manage all functions of SJMC variance reporting, to include assisting managers with questions etc.

  • Responsible for evaluation, monitoring, and reporting of variances for Finance, Respiratory Therapy, and Treadmill departments.

  • Assist in ensuring that all tasks required for preparation of accurate financial statements are completed. Obtains and provides Physician billing reports to regional accountant. Supports deadlines for all aspects of closing process/procedures.

  • Compile, evaluate, and prepare monthly statistical reports for Hyperion and Lawson databases. Submits individual files to regional accountant.

  • Coordinate and assist in the timely completion of the annual budget process. Involves both Fiscal Service functions and working with department managers.

  • Assist with general ledger account reconciliation.

  • Comply with all aspects of the Information Security /Confidentiality Agreement attached for annual review and signature.

  • Ensure automated system is accurate and complete.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in various systems and interacts between databases to access, evaluate, monitor and provide a wide range of information.

  • Include but is not limited to Meditech, Lawson, and EPSi.

  • Maintain confidentiality of Fiscal Services.

  • Perform audits of currency received and petty cash tills.

  • Perform daily review and evaluation of cash posting. Monitors daily deposits to ensure accurate posting. Determines appropriate mnemonics to accurately reflect payments. Notifies posters of electronic deposits.

  • Scan and email daily cash reports to regional Treasury personnel. Compiles, scans, and emails monthly bank statements and o/s check registers to regional Treasury personnel. Prepares cash transactions and updates spreadsheet of cash balances.

  • Compile bank statements, reports, and other information to perform reconciliation of various bank accounts. Prepares journal entries for accounts and scans and emails all documents to Regional accountants.

  • Reconcile bank deposits to general ledger posting.

  • Review cash flow management and recommend actions.

  • Provide A/P support to personnel as needed. Prepares requests, assigns G/L accounts, and monitors submissions. Scan and email documents to SPH and Regional A/P as needed. Provides A/P information as requested.

  • Calculate and submit relocation reimbursements, ER Physician payments, and tuition assistance and reimbursement requests to Regional payroll.

  • Calculate, submit, and monitor employee expense reimbursements.

  • Prepare and submit expense and CME reimbursements for Physicians and CRNAs to Regional A/P. Monitors contracts to ensure adherence to payment guidelines.

  • Calculate, evaluate, and monitor monthly billing amounts for various Client accounts. Notifies Client poster of charges to be posted.

  • Assist as needed to build Client billing procedure codes for proper recording of Client revenue.

  • Prepare SJMC journal entries insuring all numbers are supported by documentation.

  • Compile data and updates monthly template for Databank income statement and balance sheet. Accesses website and submits electronic Databank reports.

  • Compile, evaluate, and submit quarterly Performance Improvement reports to Quality Coordinator.

  • Compile, evaluate, and electronically submits a wide range of information for various annual surveys and reports.

  • Prepare supporting audit schedules and works with external financial auditors.

  • Provide support for Financial Statements, Management Advisory Services, Medicare Cost Report, Cash Management, Budget, Cost Accounting and other functions.

  • Manage all marketing and advertising invoices to determine allowable and non-allowable costs for year-end cost report. Builds and maintains spreadsheet for Director of Reimbursement.

  • Manage and negotiates with Leasees to determine lease terms and agreements. Updates leases and conducts fair market value surveys to adjust lease rates. Calculates and prorates operating costs and other variables into lease amounts. Directs Client billing in processing of charges.

  • Manage square footage review annually. Compiles data and information for Cost Report, updates electronic files, and submits to Regional Cost Report accountant. Includes physical inspection/measuring of facility as necessary.

  • Build, maintain, and provide instruction to Nursing/ER techs for spreadsheets to calculate ER provider time stats for Cost Report.

  • Oversight and supervision of the charge capture analyst position to ensure appropriate revenue capture for the facility. Works with Director of Operations, Charge Capture Analyst, and Regional charge master department to ensure SJMC is charging appropriately. Attends denial prevention committee meetings to ensure denials are minimal.

  • Serve as a liaison between SPHHSC and SJMC for information.

  • Serve as a liaison between Regional Accounting and SJMC for information.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or Five (5) years experience in accounting

  • One (1) year acounting experience.

  • One (1) year supervisory experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Five (5) years finance / Accounting experience.

  • One (1) year working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel.
