Providence RN Clinic - Primary Care Clinic in Polson, Montana
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic (Primary Care Clinic, Day Shift, 0.75 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. In this position you will:
Assist physicians in office procedures including but not limited to: maintaining timely flow of patients, pelvic exams, physicals, medication/ immunization administration, prescription management, phlebotomy, vision screening, hearing screening, blood sugar monitoring, lacerations/wound/suture removal care, splints/dressings/cast application and removal, pathology specimen preparation, urinary catheterization, surgical procedures, endoscopy procedures, ECG's, event monitoring, oximetry, CLIA waived laboratory test, breath alcohol/drug screen urine/heel densitometry testing, breathing treatments, through cultures, anticipate emergent or urgent patient situations and possible performs emergency CPR, patient treatment education
Clean and maintain exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for patient exams, treatments, procedures including disinfecting of instruments
Screen, assess, monitor, document, and interpret patients' environmental needs
Order and maintain office supplies
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments. Take patient histories, vital signs, fills out the medication flow sheet, assess medication allergies/adverse reactions and anticipate the needs for that patient's visit. Instruct patients in collection of laboratory samples and tests
Telephone Assessment: Screen telephone calls for referral to physician. Discuss with patient and/or family members regarding medications, treatment instructions, lab/x-ray/ECG reports, treatment preparations and follow-up management
When applicable, float to other nursing and non-nursing service areas
Report and document any unusual patient or administrative occurrence that may have an effect on the patient’s and/or staff’s well being
Team player whose contributions to the group are relied upon for smooth operations. Influence co-workers in decision making and problem solving for the betterment of the group practice
Document appropriate information clearly, accurately, and independently in the patient's medical record
Maintain patient files, record and other information. Post dictation, test results, patient reports and correspondence in accordance with clinic chart order policies
Oversee appointment bookings and assist with scheduling and re-scheduling of patient appointments, referrals, tests, treatments, pre-authorization of services, and hospital services
Participate in professional development activities to keep current with health care trends and practices.•Provides clear, concise, pertinent patient reports/information
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Montana State
Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) within 6 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Additional certification in related field
1 year professional nursing experience in a clinic setting
